As the Vice President of Sport Drug Testing at The National Center for Drug Free Sport (Drug Free Sport), Dr. Kathy Turpin uses her expertise and experience in drug testing to provide institutions with information that empowers student-athletes and administrators to make decisions that will ensure the success of their programs. Since joining Drug Free Sport in 2008, her professional history includes departmental supervision of more than 300 drug testing collegiate clients across the country and more than 25 years as a collegiate athletics administrator and coach. Dr. Turpin was also a four-year starter on the University of Missouri-Columbia women’s basketball team and the first female to be inducted into the Culver-Stockton College Athletic Hall of Fame for her successful ten-year stint as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach. A frequent presenter on NCAA compliance issues, she has served on numerous conference and NCAA committees, including a two-year term as chair of the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Committee. Dr. Turpin possesses a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia, a master’s degree in sport sociology from Western Illinois University and a Ph.D. in leadership and higher education administration from Barry University (FL).
